Igor Posner – Past Perfect

il tutto si riassume a una semplice domanda, vi piace Michael Ackerman? Se la risposta e’ si non potrete che apprezzare questo lavoro sviluppato da Igor Posner a San Pietroburgo dal 2006 al 2009.

Forse troppo simile, forse troppo ispirato a M.A. senza una propria ispirata originalità’ o percorso? beh qui il terreno si fa complicato e minato, in discorso che sara’ meglio sviluppare separatamente, pero’ a mio parere e’ in ogni caso un lavoro sincero, e i libri di Ackermann scarseggiano sugli scaffali, quindi perché’ no.

A me e’ piaciuto.

Andy Warhol – Polaroids 1958-1987

Ok non sono tutti capolavori, il volume e’ davvero impegnativo come dimensioni, ma insomma, dentro c’e’ davvero di tutto, artisti, musicisti, tutta la scena culturale del periodo, in foto alcune anche private, sicuramente interessante, e poi, basta scrivere polaroid.. oppure no?

Joel-Peter Witkin – enfer ou ciel

Se qui c’e’ anche il paradiso non saprei ma sicuramente c’e’ una discesa nell’inferno, completa monografia dell’autore, a cui vengono affiancate anche opere classiche per indicarne il percorso artistico, Per chi non lo conosce utilizza arti e corpi presi in camera mortuaria per creare still life, persone menomate o deformi, una visione onirica e narrativa della fotografia che ne interpreta i lati piu’ oscuri. Come non amarlo, un grande della fotografia che per le sue tematiche e processi vive relegato in un angolo della storia della fotografia e che non tutti conoscono. Si trova a buon prezzo..

Trent Parke – Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Questo piccolo volumetto di sole 24 pagine, che ho preso alla sua uscita sta raggiungendo delle cifre considerevoli, se si riesce a trovarlo, oltre i 200 euro e  arriva a sfiorare i 300, grazie all’edizione numerata e per altro anche molto bella.

Una piccola favola onirica e inquitante, come normale nella fotografia di Parke, un fotografo che amo molto e che e’ una vera ispirazione. La mai delusione quando l’avevo ricevuto era tutta rivolta all’estrema brevità’.

Max Pam – Promises to Keep

Forse il piu’ bel libro della serie L’artiere collection che possiedo, libro che mi ha permesso di fare pace anche con Max Pam. Ho sempre ammirato alcune sue foto e alcuni suoi lavori ma devo dire che il mix tra dei bianchi e neri bellissimi e i colori acidi dei suoi cross process mi ha sempre lasciato perplesso, almeno fino ad ora, dove veto tutto perfettamente miscelato e anche a me, persona amante del bianco e nero, a reso accessibile l’opera di questo autore, non solo foto ma quadri ricchi di timbri annotazioni scritte. Davvero un bel libro, una rapida panoramica sulla carriera di Max Pam. Spero che fotografi piu’ giovani non scambino tutto questo con l’uso sconsiderato di alcuni filtri lightroom, perche’ non e’ cosi’, erano altri tempi altri fotografi, e ci voleva coraggio, scegliendo strade da cui non era possibile tornare indietro. E tutto di fronte a commissioni e riviste importanti.

Hajime Kimura – Path in Between

Path in Between e’ il 10° volume della serie l’Artiere Collection della coraggiosa casa editrice bolognese, L’artiere. Non e’ sicuramente facile di questi tempi decidere di aprire delle collane fotografiche, soprattutto senza ricercare solo artisti ben noti e affermati ma cercando un proprio percorso.

Un percorso come in questo caso particolarmente difficile, bellissime alcune foto di questo libro stampate su carta trasparente che vanno a fondersi con altre immagini dietro, alternate a queste pero’ devo dire che ci sono immagini davvero di difficile lettura tanto che a volte e’ difficile rendersi conto se si e’ davanti ad una foto o solo a una texture scelta per la pagina. Giudizio complesso quindi su questo libro, che sebbene dotato di alcune immagini molto belle mi rende difficile consigliarlo al contrario di altri della serie di cui parlerò’ a breve.

In ogni caso complimenti all’editore, credo che scelte come queste meritino tutto il supporto possibile.

Bellissimo bianco e nero classicissimo (con qualche immagine a colori qua e la) rende perfettamente il periodo ed il reportage. Un grande reportage. Davvero bello.
